Grandma Boag's Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 1/2 C cocoa
• 1 C hot water or strong hot coffee
• 1 1/2 C sifted flour
• 3/4 tsp salt
• 1 tsp soda
• 1/4 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 C soft shortening
• 1 1/4 C granulated sugar
• 2 unbeaten eggs
• 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions

• Mix cocoa and hot water.
• Mix with all other items.
• Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes.
